She Makes Her Safe Choice has drastically reduced the number of unsafe abortions and maternal deaths worldwide by improving access to safe abortion methods, contraception, information and services.

Every year 22 million women globally have unsafe abortions and up to 44,000 die from the complications. Five million women face serious, lifelong health problems as a result of an unsafe abortion. Rutgers’ She Makes Her Safe Choice programme was developed to drastically reduce the number of unsafe abortions and maternal deaths worldwide by improving access to safe abortion methods, contraception, information and services.

Beyond Borders Media worked together with Rutgers to create a variety of content communicating program results. This happened partially through a results animation video, and through a locally recorded vlog video in Benin.

The animation video showcases project facts; where Rutgers has managed to come and what still needs to be done.

The vlog video was recorded by youth connected to the program, supervised and coordinated together by Rutgers & BBM.
