Iran often only gets negative publicity. Western media does not have a positive view of the country.

Filmmaker and photographer Reinier van Oorsouw wanted to see if there is another side to it; a more humane story. Hence we teamed up with Matador Network, a US-based travel platform, and developed ‘Is It Really Bad?!’ together.

In this 5-piece short online series, Reinier sets of on a spontaneous and adventure roadtrip through Iran without a plan. The main idea is to see who he comes across and how they act; to see who the people are in Iran and what is on their minds.

The series was premiered in Utrecht, The Netherlands and was published on the online channels of Matador Network.
